Student Profile
Participants in Next One Up come from different neighborhoods and schools throughout Baltimore City, but share one common bond: Becoming the next great leaders in their communities and beyond. Program participants must:
- Demonstrate a strong interest in earning a college degree
- Have a passion for a particular sport or sports, in which they would like to participate at the college level.
- Demonstrate good citizenship both in and out of school.
- Play an active role in all community service, tutoring and leadership development activities required by the program.

How do I apply to Next One Up?

Who is eligible for this program?
Next One Up serves Baltimore City youth of all ages.
How do I get accepted into the program?
Once an application is completed, it will be reviewed and an interview with the student-athlete and his family will be set up. Once the interview is conducted, the student-athlete's academic and social records along with any other information pertinent to the student- athlete's growth will be evaluated. If accepted into the program, the participant will adhere to the strict guidelines laid out in the Next One Up student-athlete contract.
How long is the program?
Next One Up will work with student athletes through college graduation and beyond. The hope of the program is that Next One Up will always promote, support and embrace its participants. Next One Up is a family of students athletes dedicated to making a better Baltimore.
